A Spiritual “Shot”

Thanks to the genius of my wife’s Nespresso machine, I enjoy an extremely good (not to be confused ‘nearly perfect’) shot of espresso in the morning – and it certainly does cheer my day. Anyway… rivaling my self-created cappuccino this morning was the following Spiritual “shot” from the pen of C.H. Spurgeon. Read on and enjoy. May it refresh you as it did/does me ~

The cedars of Lebanon are not dependent upon man for their watering; they stand on the lofty rock, unmoistened by human irrigation. And yet, our heavenly Father supplieth them. Thus it is with the Christian who has learned to live by faith. He is independent of man, even in temporal things; for his continued maintenance he looks to the Lord, his God, and to Him alone. The dew of heaven is his portion, and the God of heaven is his fountain.” (Spurgeon)

Now unto Him, Who, by the action of His power that is at work within us; that which is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or even think – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams – to Him be glory in the church…throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen! (Ephesians 3:20-21, amplified new testament)
